Original Poems.

All poems are Madison Kent originals.

Inspired by beginnings and ends,

beauty and balance,

time spent underwater and breathless moments on land.

(the last one is my personal fav)

Enjoy.

What stories will you remember
when this time has come and passed?
What memories were made
that are bound to stay and last?

You won’t care much the money spent
On bills and life and paying rent.

But getting lost along the way,
Laughing when plans go astray.
The feelings, flavors, endless days,
And all the world felt in a gaze.

Embrace the now,
Be here today.
Breath in breathe out,
It’s all ok.

Taking my happiness seriously
has led me to places I never would see.
Had I kept on living vicariously,
I’d be far away from this version of me

Poem about being underwater.

The wind at your back
and the sun on your face
even if you’re off track
you’re in the right place.

Poem about water. Feel the water, breathe the air.

A month ago I told myself
I had it figured out.

Then life responded with a smirk
And moved my plans about.

Now here I stand, some lessons learned
And more to come, no doubt.

Here’s to a thousand sleepy mornings and a thousand dreamy nights.
Waking to the sounds of life and sign of morning light.
Simple joys of time with you makes all the world alright

original poems about summer sun by Madison C Kent

Stop and smell the flowers
Run your fingers through your hair
Surrender to your senses
Be at peace and don’t despair.

Another day has found you
A gift like mountain air
Take and run and give and play
With gratitude and care.

Of all the paths I could’ve gone,
the one I chose led here.

Change and growth and happiness
have blossomed from my fears.

Amazing how far you can go
In days
And months
And years.

Inspire, retire, expire.
Is that not the path we lead?
Some days we brush up with death
But death won’t fill our needs.

Sometimes surprised at the edge of demise
You see death watching you.
Face to face leaves humble scars
But time is not quite due.

You have today to fill your wish
One more day, and one more kiss,
Take your chance to make your bliss
What’s on your final laundry list?

We plead for more, the things we’d miss
Once our time is through
A taste before we are dismissed.
But life won’t wait for you.

Our only choice is facing fears
Not living life subdued.
This day forward until the last
Live kind, live well, live true.

Do something every day that scares you, they say.
Swim with the sharks or jump out of planes?
Maybe there’s more you can do with each day.
Think of a thing that makes you go, “No way!”

Is it a fruit at the store you’ve never seen before?
A new restaurant you pass cause you like Chinese more?
Or maybe a person who comes from far shores,
who you pass without words since it seems like a chore.

The unknown is scary, can’t deny that, it’s true.
But our bubble of comfort can be frightening too.
Staying safe in your limits doesn’t grow or change you.
So get out, get uncomfortable, break your walls and taboos!

original poems by Madison Kent

Through my young years
I’ve seen a few things.
I’ve walked a few lands
And swam a few seas.

Charged by the sun,
Fresh air and tall trees,
I’m learning to smile
Through clouds and the breeze.

Admire the journey,
Remember to breathe,
No time like the present
To grow and be free.

original poems about sending love. by Madison Kent

So a little story time before this final piece. A 3D art class back in college assigned us a performance project where we were to make and perform some interactive piece for 3 minutes. So this mind of mine decided to take on the task of making a soul. I crafted this wire and cardboard contraption that captured, to the best of my ability, a soul. It sat around my neck with big red doors opening from my chest. Spirals and big rays came exploding out from the doors and sparkly fabric covered wires wrapped around my body like smoke. It was huge. It was beautiful. I proceeded to dance around the giant classroom for the next 3 minutes performing the following poem.

A soul has no face
And it knows no space
It wanders about you
With all of its grace.

It is dark, it is light
Like the morning and night
It lifts you up high
Like a big soaring kite.

It is silent and bold
And it never grows old
Your soul is inside you
No matter what you were told.

Like a child it plays
Never counting its days
It is beauty and wonder
In all of its ways.

Like smoke it dances
Weightless and free
This is my soul
And it is part of me.

Like an arm to a body
The soul is a part
As vital and necessary
As the heart.

Pure by nature
and good from the start
Your souls not the reason
you think you’re so smart.

Tried and weary from the days long toll?
Skip the coffee and just rely on your soul
Forever burning hot like a fire with coal
Whatever you need it can take on this roll.

It is here, now it’s there,
seems to be everywhere
Though it lurks internally
Your body its lair.

If it could, then it would
explode from your chest
But inside it stays
And that’s probably best.

The soul is essential
It gives us potential
I hope this project
Passes all the credentials.

Dances and prances
And fills you up nice
But be careful with it
Cause you do not live twice.

Sporadic like magic
To die would be tragic
But your soul will live on
Still singing its song.

Forever it lives
Whether inside or out
Your soul carries on
And there is no doubt.

Fills you with hope
As it floats your boat
Your soul keeps you warm
Like you’re wearing a coat.

Like waves on a beach
Our souls are forever
They’ll be there no matter what the endeavor.
Not witty nor happy and not even clever,
Our souls simply are and they never say never.

Open the doors and see what you find
A portal inside your body and mind.
Your soul gives you eyes so you do not go blind
Through this world that we know to be sometimes unkind.

One soul is not lesser than another
So we should treat all like a sister or brother.
Our souls are equal from bottom to top
So love is something that never should stop.

Live on knowing your soul keeps with age
Imagine it as a tiger in your cage.
Driving you, striving you,
to be the best.

I could go on for days,
But you finish the rest.
